Bet

“Bet” is a slang term used when you’re in agreement with someone or something. 

What does "Bet" mean?

The term “bet” can be used in a few different ways, but generally means "agreed" or "okay". For example, if someone says "Wanna grab lunch later?" and the other person responds "Bet", it means they agree to the plan.

“Bet" can also be used as a response to confirm that a statement is true. For example, if someone says "I'll be at the party tonight," another person might respond "Bet" to indicate that they believe and acknowledge the statement.

“Bet" can also be used as a slang term to express confidence in a particular outcome or situation. For example, if someone says "I'm sure I'll ace this test," another person might respond "Bet" to show that they share confidence in the statement.

Where did "Bet" originate from?

The term “bet” originates from African American Vernacular English and was popularized by in the 1990s amongst hip-hop groups on university campuses.
