Cheugy

"Cheugy" is a slang term used to describe something or someone who is outdated, trying too hard to be trendy, or lacking in style and originality.

What does Cheugy mean?

The term is fairly new and gained popularity on social media platforms in 2021. It is often associated with millennial and Gen Z culture and is used to mock or critique certain aesthetic choices, fashion trends, or pop cultural references that are considered uncool or out of touch.

The concept of "cheugy" revolves around the idea that certain trends or behaviours that were once popular or trendy (specifically in the 2010s) have become overused or cliché. The idea is that people who still adhere to those trends are seen as behind the times.

Some examples of things that are considered “cheugy” include being obsessed with Disney as an adult, wearing skinny jeans or owning Starbucks merchandise. It can encompass various aspects of lifestyle choices, fashion, interior design, social media content, and more.

It's important to note that the term "cheugy" is highly subjective and can be used differently by different people. What one person considers cheugy may not be the same for someone else. It's essentially a way for people to express their opinions and judgments about certain trends or styles that they perceive as outdated or unoriginal.
