LinkedIn Tip #1: Drive Engagement Through Authentic Storytelling from Wealthsimple

Wealthsimple is having a major year: ICYMI the brand just raised one of the largest private tech investments in Canadian history!

On LinkedIn, they’re focused on building engagement with brand-led content from their magazine and advertising campaigns.

“Our approach to content on LinkedIn is all about humanizing money and breaking down taboos with really authentic, raw stories,” explains Meghan Sharp, Wealthsimple’s Social Lead.

Take one peek at their LinkedIn page and you’ll find timely and relevant brand-led pieces, editorial features, and tons of evergreen topics that help educate readers.

“The content that performs best for us is all about giving people a peek behind the curtain at Wealthsimple — whether that’s a spotlight on individual Wealthsimplers, deep dives on teams and employee resource groups, or exciting partnerships,” explains Meghan.

And when it comes to driving as many clicks on the platform as possible, Meghan shares that being authentic is key.

“Authenticity is at the core of Wealthsimple’s brand. We have a brand voice that’s irreverent and fun, and we bring that thinking to our LinkedIn strategy.”

LinkedIn Tip #2: Grow Your Audience Through Consistency from Later

At Later, Social Media Manager Christine Colling’s LinkedIn strategy is simple: regularly share updates and stay active on the platform.

“Unlike our other social channels — where we mainly promote our blog contentLinkedIn has been a great channel for keeping our community updated on all things Later: company and product updates, industry news, and job postings.”

According to Christine, one of the best ways to grow your LinkedIn audience is through consistency. When you share to LinkedIn on a regular basis, your audience will expect it and see you as a leader or educator in your industry.

But, the downside to posting consistent content is that it can be time-consuming.

However, there are ways to make your LinkedIn posting strategy easier and more efficient.

“Later’s LinkedIn scheduling tool lets us plan and schedule all our multi-media posts in one productive power hour — so we can batch prep our content, sit back, and watch our LinkedIn community grow. Plus, it’s 100% free to use,” shares Christine.

LinkedIn Tip #3: Build Brand Awareness Through Thought Leadership from AfterShip

While AfterShip’s top priority on LinkedIn is to find great employees, Kia Fung — the company’s North American Brand Manager — shares that a big goal of theirs is to “cultivate a LinkedIn community of AfterShip users interested in our brand and products through thought leadership.”

And AfterShip’s LinkedIn content is a great example of how you don’t have to use LinkedIn for recruitment purposes alone.

One of the best ways to do this is by sprinkling in intriguing and relevant content to your business, like the example below:

“When you produce meaningful content and engage in conversations with your community, you’ll build your brand awareness in no time.”

Kia encourages brands to experiment with different ways to present relevant information to help facilitate a dialog and in turn, boost engagement and customer retention.

With the right content strategy and these expert LinkedIn tips, the platform can help you build brand recognition, gain better insight and understanding of your audience, and increase engagement.
