Instagram has announced yet another way to shop on the app: IGTV Shopping!

Every month, 130 million people tap on a shoppable Instagram post, so it’s no surprise the platform is rolling out it’s shopping services to IGTV.

Ready to learn more about this exciting update?

Here’s everything you need to know about IGTV Shopping:

What is IGTV Shopping?

IGTV Shopping is the latest way to discover and purchase products directly within Instagram.

Instagram Shopping is already available for feed posts, Instagram Stories, and Instagram Live, with plans to test shopping for Instagram Reels this year.

The introduction of Instagram Shopping for IGTV means that businesses and creators will be able to tag shoppable products directly in their IGTV videos. Previously, the only way to share product links was in the video description, which viewers have to tap to open.

Video is a powerful sales tool as it allows brands to showcase products in a more dynamic way. With this in mind, adding Instagram Shopping features to IGTV is a no-brainer for brands and creators looking to drive sales.

Plus, Instagram Checkout is now available to all eligible business accounts in the US, making it easier than ever for users to go from inspiration to purchase without ever leaving the app.

And according to TechCrunch, shoppable IGTV videos will soon be discoverable through Instagram Shop: the in-app e-commerce destination that makes it easier to shop from brands and creators.

So, what does this mean for the future of e-commerce on Instagram?

With an e-commerce aspect now attached to almost every feature, the future of shopping on Instagram is only set to grow.

Instagram has made it clear: they want to keep making it easier for users to find products they love while supporting businesses.

IGTV Shopping is just one of many major strides by Instagram towards the e-commerce space, and it doesn’t look it will be slowing down anytime soon.
